The Latest Project (friday 15/02/08)
Earlier This week gary tells me there is a shell he can get at his mates car yard that he can get at the right price.
Here are the images he brings to show me: -

He also shows me pics of another car with Huge power that was avaliable to us (uncomplied) for cheap - An R33 GTS-T with GTR front gaurds, Greddy Turbo, with extra injectors, front mount & large exhorst etc. etc.
We decided against it, but when we went to pick up the shell, we were offered all the aftermarket parts at a very good price, & they are scheduled to be pulled off & picked up by about Monday 25/02/2008

Car arrives home approx. 8:30PM
- Vehicle condition as below: -
Series 1, 1994 Nissan R33 GTS (non turbo shell) - (SOON TO BE RB30DET)
(No doors, boot, wing, gaurds, bonnet, bodykit, power steering rack, rear suspension, fuel pump & cover for tank, missing LH rear quater window, no interrior)
Some rust to both strut towers, and a small amount in Jack points under vehicle.
Minor damage to door sills where it was chained to the trailer & minor scrapes on rear part of body.
Does however contain an almost complete RB25DE & Auto

Purchased 2x Doors, Boot, for $50 each (damaged & battered condition- wing had been levered from boot)
& were given a passenger side gaurd
on our way back from melbourne, from out near calder park.
Also got a URAS rear bar, which will be part of the kit for the car.

Satuarday (16/02/08) (started about 1PM on car)
First thing in my opinion was change this baby from 4 Stud to 5 Stud. So we dropped out the Diff & cradle & brakes
to replace with an R34 GTT unit (in the absence of R33 GTST) Plan is to press out the front hubs & replace them as well. For the time being we will just convert the rear and get some R34 GTT Ohlin Height & Damper Adjustable Coil overs so we can push it around.

The Old Diff & Cradle - Note no Hicas

The R34 GTT Diff we had lying around. HICAS rack has been removed to be replaced with a lock bar.

Note here the rear ohlin suspension is R34 GTT, an easy way to tell is that it has a clevis type arrangement for bolting to the diff whereas the R33 has a tube end with a bush in it.(like the front has also)

With everything bolted in place Gary is keen to get the Rims he brought for the car on and see how the suspension sits

Car sits well, now the boot is removed to recieve a little panel beating so that it may be remotely usable.

As the day progresses it is thought, that maybe we should think about preparing the body for paint, having decided on a dark colour i begin sanding the car,

By this point i am getting sick of sanding & Call it a night.
Sunday 17/02/2008

I didn't get alot more done, but plan to during the week.
Monday 18/02/2008 - Friday 22/02/2008
Been rubbing the car back all week, starting to take shape. Gary tells me, that he will get a hand from My old man & pull out the motor on the Friday.

Gary & My old man removed the engine & degreased the engine-bay. Also fitted Tein front suspension. (We are looking to use this engine in our last project (the R31 with the Supercharged RB30E engine) A pair of jun sideskirts in the background, that may also be used on the car.

Using an R34 Power Steering rack, (only one i had lying around) bolts in with the same thread fitting. (pipes were slightly different angle but bent easily.

We even got the resident Mitsubishi man to work on our Nissan Racecar. "how am i"

After investigating into the rust, which is primarily in the gusset & not the tower, we decide that we will plasma cut it out and plate it. (both sides)

Satuarday 23/02/2008
After working the morning go to the shed about 1PM - sanded up the gaurd my old man gave a light panel beating & flare, has come up alright so far.

Went out to my hoard of parts & brought in a right hand gaurd, some door hinges for the Left side, a headlight & a STD wing.

I sit the bits in place & don't do allot more, Still have to bring around a bonnet, & front bar. I can't decide weather we want a STD bonnet or Carbon Fibre, & if we want a Veilside or JUN front bar as they are lying around also.

Sunday - 24/02/2008
Today we were not planing on doing alot, and thats what happened. From Webber H.Q. we decided to get a few parts, like the engine & Body kit etc. We also brought around the press to change over the front hubs. We pressed out one Hub & Called it a day.

The engine we plan on using is an RB30 Hybrid engine, running an RB30E bottom end (rebuilt) & an RB25 or RB26 head. (we havent decided which way to go yet, but have both avaliable on hand).

Jun bodykit. (thank god i can finally get rid of it)...

Monday 25/02/2008- Thrusday 28/02/2008
Tuesday Gary brought home the Greddy TD06-20G Turbo, waste-gate, dump, exhorst, BeeR Blow off, Trust piping with 2x Denso 550CC extra injectors, powered by a Greddy Rebic III injector drive system.

Thursday 28/02/2008
Get home and my old man has the gaurds back to bare metal, and filling them with a small amount of body filler, to even out the high & low spots in them.

Note not another R33 GTS-T in the background.

Midway i stop off for a home made Pizza, just as everyone who works hard should...
